LCD TV Brackets Made For LCD TVs
LCD TV brackets are not necessarily different from any other type of mounting
brackets that one would use to mount a plasma television. But, some companies do make brackets specifically for LCD
televisions, and they may provide a better fit for the specific configuration of a LCD television’s back panel.
This should not be an issue due to adherence to VESA guidelines by television manufacturers, but should be
considered. And, plasma TV brackets may take into account other slight differences between the two types of
televisions.
One difference is that LCD TVs are typically somewhat lighter than plasma televisions of the
same size. So, plasma brackets for a particular size will be sturdy enough to hold an LCD TV of that size. But, the
reverse would not be true. In other words, when purchasing the proper mounts for an LCD TV, the proper size is much
more important than the type, should some kind of mistake be made, or if there is a sale on plasma brackets. As for
fit, as mentioned before VESA standardization should ensure that if brackets of the correct size are purchased,
they will fit the television.
The decreased weight of an LCD TV will likely not impact the price of the proper brackets for
mounting it, unless the owner opts for a flat, low-profile bracket. But, some thought should be put into whether
this is the best option for an LCD TV, because they do not have as wide of a favorable viewing angle as plasma
televisions. This means that the further a viewer moves away from a straight-on view of an LCD TV, the less clear
the picture image will become. For that reason, it may be wise to consider a bracket option that will offer more
flexibility. TVs mounted with flat, low-profile brackets will prevent the television from being repositioned while
on the mount once it is attached.
LCD TV brackets, and TV brackets and mounts generally, come in
three basic styles: flat, tilt and full-motion. Using flat mount brackets are like hanging a picture. Once the
brackets are installed and the TV is mounted, that is where it will remain. Tilting brackets allow the TV to be
tilted up and down, which provides options in how close the seating is arranged. And, full-motion brackets allow
the TV to be tilted, as well as moved up and down, and to the left and right. Finally, there are also pivoting
arm mounts that allow a television to swing out for different viewing angles from the left or right. The
LCD TV brackets allow the TV to be attached to these different
mounts.
Considering these options, and that price differences between them are not too extreme, LCD
owners would benefit more from brackets that allow the television to be repositioned to better suit the viewer.
Even for the strict budget, upgrading from a low-profile choice to tilting brackets could help with image quality,
as well as make it easier to adjust cables behind the television when necessary.
Mounting a LCD TV will create more space in the home or office. This is one of best reasons to
mount a television, and what makes mounting TVs increasingly popular. The advent of the flat-panel television has
made it a sensible alternative to leaving it on a stand, or on the floor. Even smaller TVs are being mounted in
kitchens and bedrooms, providing more counter space and room for storage, and in many cases keeping them safe from
damage.
